Class 1 of 4
Join L.D. for this dance class series for 6-12th grade students. For this first class you can follow along with a warm up sequence that you will repeat for the upcoming Choreography classes. Keep a water bottle handy, wear comfortable clothing, and have fun!
Warm up for each class in the series
Repeat this short dance warm up for each of the choreography sessions to come. Keep these pointers in mind:
- Take any opportunity to focus on your style, give it some attitude!
- Another area of focus is creating a clean line while dancing, lengthen and reach as you move. Stretching helps create those clean lines. Stretch often to improve.
- Musicality is a must, it allows us to move in unison, so listen to and move with the music as you do the warm up.
- Dance is a performance art so, do the warm up as if it is a performance: be aware of your facial expressions, exude confidence and clarity, imagine you are dancing next to your fellow performers and move so they can feel you! Have fun!

We want to stay connected to our creative students when we get back to the new normal. While you are here, learn more about the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy. While we don't have much taking place in real space/time during the pandemic, we will get back to our regular live and in-person classes. When we do, we'd love to have you as a member!
